Premium Coffee Book
Year: 2024

Design Army is a graphic design company located in Washington DC. It is run by a married couple Pum and Jake Lefebure. They offer many services from branding to experiential marketing. They consider themselves to be brand architects who impact every aspect of design through visual solutions.

The book sleeve is reminiscent of the US Army ammunition packaging featuring real wood and jewelry wire wrapped around the outside as a seal. Overall, the goal was to highlight the work by allowing images to speak for themselves through spacing, scale and placement. The company prides themselves on structure so the text columns and overall grid system used help the audience get a sense of organization.

This one hundred page, premium coffee book is a breakdown of only a handful of Design Army’s work. In order to embody the company’s style and aesthetic a minimal style was employed. The text used throughout is the sans serif Helvetica font matching the brands logo and font featured throughout their website.

of Human Rights

Year: 2023

Song: Deeply Rooted (KG) - Temptations
process
My goal was to let people know that life is a journey and it is okay to be who you are. You can always change your mind, actions or outcomes at any point in your life. Believing in something other than ourselves can allow us to live a more fulfilling life. This video serves as motivation for the audience to know more about their rights.

Problem:

  • Creating an engaging design with limited resources.
  • Balancing aesthetics with cost-effective production.

Solution:

Developed an effective, engaging, and informative video that explains Article 18 in an accessible way to a general audience. The design balances education with visual appeal, staying within a limited budget.

The Sound of Metal
Year: 2023
A heavy metal drummer’s life is turned upside down when he begins to lose his hearing and he must confront a future filled with silence. Released in November 2020 and Directed by Darius Marder.

The idea was to match the tone of the characters feelings as he navigates losing his hearing. It is reminiscent of a personal diary as we flip through the pages to reveal the story of what happened to him as well as how he felt about it.

Below, that same story comes to life through the use of expressive typography and immersive sound elements from the movie. This motion trailer is crafted to build anticipation, merging visual and auditory storytelling to evoke the emotions and themes central to the film. Each typographic element is meticulously animated to capture the intensity, rhythm, and essence of the characters emotions, while the sound design amplifies the impact, drawing viewers into the narrative world. This fusion of text and sound forms a dynamic piece that serves as more than just a preview—it acts as an engaging invitation that heightens excitement for the full cinematic experience.
